BOLT-IN Project

BOLT-IN: Bolt-load in-service inspection and monitoring through novel non-destructive testing technologies.

The goal of BOLT-IN is to determine the technical and commercial feasibility of a new bolt load measurement technique in the Australian market. The technology is based in a dual sensor, consisting of an EMAT (Electro Magnetic Acoustic Transducer) coil embedded with a dry-coupled piezoelectric (DCUT) transducer. This configuration allows to measure bolt load in just one reading, without zero load reference.

Innerspec cooperates with inspection company BoltPrep in the market analysis and the development of the first field trials of the technology.
